A luxating patella is a condition when the patella, or knee cap, dislocates or moves out of its normal location. Patellar luxation is a common condition in dogs, particularly small breed dogs. This condition is often identified in dogs at a younger age. Most cases of patellar luxation do not need surgical repair, but in severe cases or chronic painful cases surgery can offer immediate and effective relief for your pet.
At Kenwood Pet Clinic we pride ourselves in providing high quality care tailored specifically to getting your dog back on their feet. Dr. Turino and Dr. Prochaska have a combined 40 years surgical experience in providing orthopedic solutions for the knee.
