It's that time of year when you might start seeing red spots on pets' bellies and legs. We'd like to share a helpful resource to help navigate what you may be seeing. This image details common bug bites that can occur. These bites are not cause for concern, are generally not bothersome, and will clear up on their own over the course of several days. Gnat and black fly bites are often confused with ringworm, especially when they are fresh and a brighter red color. Ringworm is much less common than bug bites, and often causes the skin to become flaky and itchy in addition to the appearance of red spots. If you are concerned about spots or bites on your pet, you may send us a photo via email. We will ask our medical staff review it and respond to you in a timely manner.
